Hi! I'm McKayla.
I'm a sucker for earthy colors and I almost always have either my camera in hand, or my kids. I have learned that big events in life aren't the only things that deserve to be photographed. I document my family's chaos almost daily and I want so badly to do that for you too. Putting away laundry parties, dinners at the table, and running towards sprinklers + loved ones are moments spent that should be given more credit. Because that's real life.
My hubby and I are raising our boys on dairy and love languages in the heart of Wisconsin. Motherhood has changed me immensely and it is the greatest adventure I have taken on.
Laughter, organic florals + textures, traveling, September sunsets, and snuggles are what inspire me.
Photos taken by various photographic artists: Amanda Ruzicka Photography, Jamie Gellings Media, Elizabeth Edlebeck, Micah Heath, Auburn & Ivy Photography
documented.
Here's the rundown. I work full time as an event coordinator. But I sure as heck would rather run my own show pursuing my creative ideas. But, I can't do that unless you book with me. And don't take on the weight of that. I'm just saying, if you like my work, send me a message and let's chat about what you're imagining.
I prefer golden hour but clouds are the ultimate diffuser. We can dance in a field or I can come inside and capture the beautiful mess if that's your reality. Making the small things big is my secret to living a humble and unpretentious life.
I mean I'm here for the big moments too...having a baby, wedding shenanigans, celebrating a birthday or preparing for death. All these components of life matter in different ways.
And if there's anything you regret looking back on in your life, it's that you didn't treat it the way it should have been...

Wardrobe and interaction are major factors in creating images that resemble the work you see in my portfolio. We will work together on outfit styling and color coordination as we plan for your session. During your session, you will be placed in situations that foster natural interaction, emotive posing, and opportunities for genuine moments. If you are open to this concept,
